Chase Life Invitational

Eighteen-year-old Chase Hoover wears a "Chase Life" t-shirt Friday at the Redneck Yacht Club four-wheeling park. Three years after being initial diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Hoover's cancer recently relapsed aggressively. Doctors are now treating Hoover with more chemotherapy and preparing for a full bone marrow transplant. David Albers/Staff

The Annual Chase Life Invitational is an IBT Tournament named after former Bears wrestler Chase Hoover who passed away from cancer in 2011. After a five-year absence, a wrestling tournament returned to Palmetto Ridge in a big way in 2013. The Chase Life IBT tournament encourages teams from all over the state and out of state to joint and compete at an elite level. For more information contact Head coach Blaine Ison (239-289-9931).
